Geeks + Beach Party = GeekyBeachParty AWESOME!

I was asked to do live event photography for ServerBeach‘s GeekyBeachParty at SXSWi (South by Southwest Interactive) in Austin Monday night at Ace’s Lounge on 6th street. And when I say Live, I mean LIVE! My assistant and I were uploading images to flickr and tweeting out the images as we took them. It was an awesomely, socially networked event. But what MADE this event was the energy brought to Ace’s Lounge that night by the amazing and energized geeks from SXSWi. ServerBeach staffers mingled with Geeks from the SXSWi crowd and had an unbelievable time. The live DJ, girls dancing on stage in I “heart” geeks t-shirts complete with black rimmed, taped glasses, and an incredible live performance from the Austin local artist Neiliyo made for an incredible party. And, to really put the icing on the cake, ServerBeach offered the club and the drinks for FREE. There was a waiting list of over 2000 geeks to get into the club Monday night. Next year, there is no doubt that this will once again be THE PARTY TO BE AT.
