I am trying to come up with some ideas for a Gestalt assignment. The idea I was using here was the out of focus beans in the foreground, leading the eye to the in focus beans and then to the coffee cup. The Brown and black colors framing the bag of coffee with the bright colors.

I have been playing with simulating a tilt-shift lens like the lensbaby. I’m doing this through the use of a quick mask and and the lensblur filter in Photoshop as seen here.

I had a chance to shoot at the Peoria Rivermen vs the San Antonio Rampage game on 1-16-09 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, TX. It was a nice fight and there was even some hockey in there too! This was my favorite capture of the night. I sure hope the goalie was wearing protection!

Shooting a lot of weddings leads me to the need for a decent hot shoe strobe diffuser. I have seen the Gary Fong Sphere, the Stofen Omnibounce, and the Lumiquest, all fine products, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Personally, have used the Stofen Omnibounce for years. The downside to the Stofen is the light loss. It seems, especially at dark wedding receptions, I have a hard time getting enough light...
